The Mysterious Benedict Society blog(part two)

I'm reading that book The Mysterious Benedict Society. I have read through page 139 out of 485 pages. The main character in this story is Richard Muldoon. Richard likes to be called Reynie. He has three friends named Constance, Pete, and Kate.

There were two words that I was not familiar with. One of the words was stevedores. The word stevedores is a noun. It means a person employed, or a contractor engaged, at a dock to load and unload cargo from ships. The other word that I didn't know was contrary. This word is an adjective and it means the opposite in nature, direction, or meaning.

In this part of the story, two men tried to kidnap the children.  They came into the house and were in the maze. This caused the emergency alarm to sound. Constance tried to get to safety. She accidentally got lost and wandered in the maze. The two men found her in the maze and put her to sleep. Then, they tried to kidnap the other children. They didn't get away with it.

The children find out they are going to be secret agents. They will go undercover at a weird school. They hope to find out anything odd or suspicious about the school. They think that the school has something to do with messages that are being sent through the TV to children everywhere.

The children met a man named Milligan. Milligan lost his memory a long time ago. He doesn't remember who he is or how he lost his memory. He does remember waking up in a chair with two men standing around him. When he was sitting in the chair, he saw the same men that tried to kidnap Reynie, Constance, Sticky, and Kate.

I predict that Milligan will get his entire memory back. Mr. Benedict believes there is a possible chance that Milligan could get his memory back. Mr. Benedict was the person that made all of the tests. He found out about the messages being sent through children. I think he is a smart man, so he is probably right.

Does Milligan have any other secrets? He is always very quiet. When you look the other way for just a moment,  he seems to disappear without a trace! He acts very suspicious.

I think I am similar to Kate. When Kate doesn't want Constance to be part of the Mysterious Benedict Society,  she starts to whine and gets somewhat mad. I can do the same thing sometimes. I whine sometimes without realizing that I am doing it.  However, she is also always ready with her bucket of things to help others.

  2. Milligan does seem to have an air of mystery about him! I thought the part with the men coming into the house and trying to kidnap the children was really scary when I read the book.
