I've read to the 3rd chapter in King of Shadows by Susan Cooper. I can't wait to see what happens to Nat!
Nat was chosen out of many boy actors to be in 2 Shakespeare plays that they would perform in the Globe Theater in London, England! Nat loved acting, and was CRAZY excited! They would perform the plays how they would in Shakespeare's time. There would be no girls, because the young boys whose voices hadn't changed yet would play the girl parts. When Nat got with all of the other boys, he met their teacher. He was named Arby. They all played a game to show trust. Nat got in the middle of 4 other boys and fell. He trusted the others to catch him, but one boy just was letting him fall, and then caught him at the last moment. Arbythrew him out of the play!!! Later on they all went to London to practice the plays. While they were practicing at the globe, Nat felt all weird, smelled flowers, and was about to fall over! This happened 3 times! What was going on? Late that night Nat also barfed, and finally went to sleep.
A question that I have about this part of the story is what was so special about the Globe Theater? I researched online and found out that it was Shakespeare's theater, and that it was destroyed. They made another one(a replica) and that was where Nat was.
I predict that Nat will go back in time. I think this because on the cover of the book it shows part of him in modern day and part a loooooooooong time ago. I also think this because he was having all of those weird feelings, and I think that he's going to fall asleep and turn up back in time.
A connection that I have for this part of the story has to do with Arby sending the kid away. Arby was really strict on trust. This is like how God is strict with us trusting in Him.
