The Mysterious Benedict Society blog(part two)

I'm reading that book The Mysterious Benedict Society. I have read through page 139 out of 485 pages. The main character in this story is Richard Muldoon. Richard likes to be called Reynie. He has three friends named Constance, Pete, and Kate.

There were two words that I was not familiar with. One of the words was stevedores. The word stevedores is a noun. It means a person employed, or a contractor engaged, at a dock to load and unload cargo from ships. The other word that I didn't know was contrary. This word is an adjective and it means the opposite in nature, direction, or meaning.

In this part of the story, two men tried to kidnap the children.  They came into the house and were in the maze. This caused the emergency alarm to sound. Constance tried to get to safety. She accidentally got lost and wandered in the maze. The two men found her in the maze and put her to sleep. Then, they tried to kidnap the other children. They didn't get away with it.

The children find out they are going to be secret agents. They will go undercover at a weird school. They hope to find out anything odd or suspicious about the school. They think that the school has something to do with messages that are being sent through the TV to children everywhere.

The children met a man named Milligan. Milligan lost his memory a long time ago. He doesn't remember who he is or how he lost his memory. He does remember waking up in a chair with two men standing around him. When he was sitting in the chair, he saw the same men that tried to kidnap Reynie, Constance, Sticky, and Kate.

I predict that Milligan will get his entire memory back. Mr. Benedict believes there is a possible chance that Milligan could get his memory back. Mr. Benedict was the person that made all of the tests. He found out about the messages being sent through children. I think he is a smart man, so he is probably right.

Does Milligan have any other secrets? He is always very quiet. When you look the other way for just a moment,  he seems to disappear without a trace! He acts very suspicious.

I think I am similar to Kate. When Kate doesn't want Constance to be part of the Mysterious Benedict Society,  she starts to whine and gets somewhat mad. I can do the same thing sometimes. I whine sometimes without realizing that I am doing it.  However, she is also always ready with her bucket of things to help others.

The Mysterious Benedict Society (part 1)

     The Mysterious Benedict Society

I chose the book The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. I chose this book because it's a mystery and it is a fantasy book too.My dad and Mrs. Koster recommended this book to me. I have read through page 106.

In the book The mysterious Benedict Society, there is a boy named Richard Muldoon who liked to be called Reynie. His parents died when he was a baby so he lives at an orphanage. He is really smart. He thinks and figures things out that most people would not understand.

He has a tutor whose name is Miss Perumal. She believes Reynie is a gifted child and convinces him to take a test for gifted children.  He is the only person that passes the test in his group.  There are many strange things that happen during the test.  For example, he is kept from calling Miss Perumal. There was also a skinny woman who was wearing a yellow dress that made her look like a pencil. Reynie later passes another test.

After the second test, he is taken to a room where he meets several children who also passed the test in different groups.  He meets Pete, a bald kid with glasses.  He also meets a very energetic, funny, and tall girl who is named Kate. Later, someone takes Reynie, Kate, and Sticky to a third test. They all pass it as well.  After the third test, the three children meet another girl.  Her name is Constance.  She is short, pudgy, and sometimes rude. The children figure out what all of these tests are about.

I predict that Constance will stop being so rude. I also predict that she will start to be friends with Sticky, Reynie, and Kate. I think that they will all become friends in the end. I think the people that picked them to pass the tests wouldn't pick them if they wouldn't work well together.

The house that the children stay in this book has a maze in the front of the house and other cool stuff. The house in book reminds me of the big, cool house that the Weasleys have in the book Harry Potter.

I'm wondering if anyone is going to get hurt in their adventure. Sometimes in mystery books, people get hurt or disappear. Will it happen in this book?
